What this invoice generator does

Invoice Generator creates one general-purpose invoice in your browser. Add seller and client details, line items, an optional discount and tax rate, review the finished document, then print it or use your browser's Save as PDF option when available. No account is required, and the Invoice Generator runtime does not upload or save your invoice.

What to include on an invoice

Common invoices identify the seller and customer, invoice number and dates, products or services, quantities and rates, totals, and payment information. Requirements can vary by country, tax system, business type and transaction, so review the finished invoice and add any information your jurisdiction or customer requires.

How invoice totals are calculated

Line amount → subtotal → discount → tax → total due

Each line amount is rounded to the selected currency's minor unit before the subtotal is added. An invoice-level discount is applied before the optional tax rate. Tax is calculated only from the rate you enter; the app does not look up tax rules or determine whether tax should apply.

Invoice number

You control the invoice number. Because this app deliberately keeps no invoice history, it cannot know your previous invoice number or guarantee that a number is unique.

Invoice vs quote, estimate and receipt

An invoice requests payment for goods or services. A quote communicates an offered price before the work or sale, an estimate is a projected price, and a receipt records payment after it happens. Invoice Generator does not combine those separate documents into hidden modes.

Discounts and tax

You can use either a percentage discount or a fixed discount. The fixed discount cannot exceed the subtotal. One optional invoice-level tax percentage is then applied to the discounted subtotal. This is general arithmetic, not tax or legal advice.

Saving as PDF

Print / Save as PDF opens your browser's print workflow. If your browser or operating system offers a Save as PDF destination, choose it there. The app does not claim to generate a standalone PDF download directly.

For small businesses and freelancers

The workbench is designed for a one-off invoice when you want the document without creating an invoicing account. It does not replace bookkeeping, accounting, recurring billing or payment tracking software.

Privacy and local work

Your typed invoice data stays in the active page memory used by the Invoice Generator runtime. An optional logo is read locally for the current document. The app does not persist invoices to browser storage and does not upload invoice content.

What this app does not do

Invoice Generator does not send invoices, process payments, keep customer records, track paid or unpaid status, create recurring invoices, connect to a bank, determine sales tax, or certify VAT/GST/tax compliance.

Worked example

StepAmount
2 × $75 design work + 1 × $25 asset$175.00 subtotal
10% discount−$17.50
8.25% tax on $157.50$12.99
Total due$170.49
Is this a free invoice generator?

Yes. The Invoice Generator workbench does not require an account or payment to create and print an invoice.

Can I create an invoice online without an account?

Yes. Build the invoice in this page, then print it or save it through your browser before leaving.

Does the app save my invoices?

No. The app is intentionally session-only. Refreshing or closing the page clears the active invoice.

Can I download a PDF?

The app opens the browser print workflow. Use Save as PDF there when your browser or operating system provides that option.

Does changing currency convert my amounts?

No. Currency changes the document currency and allowed decimal precision; it does not perform exchange-rate conversion.

Does this create tax-compliant invoices?

No universal compliance claim is made. Invoice requirements vary, and the app does not determine jurisdiction-specific tax rules.
