How Text Compare handles text, files, and reports.

Text Compare is published by Mycelgrid LLC. This page supplements the Mycelgrid Privacy Policy for this app's behavior.

Local comparison

Text you type or paste and files you open are processed in your browser. The app does not upload that work for comparison or send it to another app. Both inputs, comparison options, results and bounded Undo are kept in page memory. The app does not automatically store them in a database, browser storage, cookies or share links.

Closing, reloading or leaving the page can lose work. Clear removes current inputs; memory-only Undo can temporarily restore recent app actions while the tab remains open. Browser navigation restoration is not a promised save feature.

Appearance preference

System, Light or Dark may be remembered through the shared Mycelgrid appearance setting in localStorage. That preference contains no input text or file contents. It is shared with platform pages and apps on this origin. If storage is unavailable, the preference lasts only on the current page.

Clipboard and downloads

Copy actions write text to your device clipboard only after you click. Your operating system and other software can handle clipboard contents under their own rules. When clipboard access fails, the app offers selected text for manual copying.

Downloaded reports contain both prepared source texts, the comparison, options and versions, and relevant import notices. They remain files under your control. Sharing a report yourself can disclose that content to its recipient. This app has no automatic email-send or cloud-sharing action. Temporary download URLs are revoked after use.

Website delivery and contact

Loading the website requests app files from its hosting infrastructure. Normal request information may be handled as described in the platform policy. The app adds no analytics or remote work logging. Sending us email supplies the information you choose to send; avoid confidential source text and use a small deidentified example when reporting a defect.
