About this notice

This notice describes Word Counter, published by Mycelgrid LLC. Read it with the Mycelgrid Privacy Policy, which covers platform-wide practices. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@mycelgrid.com.

Drafts and locally opened files

Your editor text, selected passages, file contents, counts, targets, and timing settings are processed in this browser. Counting does not send them to an application server, put them in a URL, or share them with another app. No account, cloud save, or database of writing sessions is provided.

The current draft, calculation state, and bounded Undo history stay in page memory. This app does not automatically save work or settings to localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, cookies, or a service-worker cache. Closing, reloading, or leaving the page can lose that state. Browser restoration/caching is controlled by the browser and is not a promised app save or secure-erasure feature.

Clipboard and downloads

Copy writes the complete draft to your clipboard after you choose that action. TXT/Markdown downloads contain editor text. JSON statistics downloads include counts, method descriptions, timing settings, and target status but exclude the draft and selected text.

These actions place information in a destination you control. Your device, browser, clipboard manager, file-storage service, or other applications may handle that information under their own settings.

Appearance preference

Light, Dark, and System use the shared Mycelgrid preference under the browser key mycelgrid:theme. It stores an allowlisted appearance choice, with no draft text, counts, targets, or timing settings. The choice is reused across this site's Mycelgrid pages/apps and reloads; clearing site data resets it to System. With storage unavailable, the choice works on the current page without being saved.

Website delivery and optional services

Loading the site requires ordinary requests to the host and network infrastructure. Those providers may process technical information such as IP address, requested URL, browser/request headers, request time, and security or diagnostic records. That delivery is separate from local draft counting.

The website is delivered through Vercel. See Vercel's Privacy Notice (new tab) for its services. We do not state an unverified exact infrastructure retention period.

This app version adds no advertising scripts, analytics product, tracking pixels, or application cookies. Any future optional services require accurate updated notices and applicable controls. A possible future service is not a claim that it is enabled now.

Contact messages and external links

If you email us, your mail service and our mail provider handle the message, address, and delivery information. We use supplied information to respond and investigate reported issues under the platform policy. Send a short deidentified example rather than a confidential draft.

External services have their own policies. Following a link does not transmit editor content through this app; choosing to paste or submit text there is a separate action you control.
