About Typing Speed Test

Typing Speed Test is a browser-based Mycelgrid app for measuring typing speed and accuracy without creating an account. It combines a focused timed test with transparent scoring, mistake diagnostics, and a local practice loop.

What the app is designed to do

The primary job is simple: type an English prompt, receive WPM and accuracy results, understand which expected keys were missed most often, then retry or practice. Test lengths range from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and Easy, Standard, and Advanced prompt modes use the same scoring rules.

Why the scoring is visible

WPM can be ambiguous when a product does not explain whether mistakes, corrections, or raw keystrokes are included. This app exposes headline WPM, raw WPM, accuracy, corrected mistakes, uncorrected errors, and its app-specific consistency metric separately. The WPM guide documents the formulas.

Local-first by design

The typing session runs in this page. Test progress, errors, and results are not uploaded or saved as an app history. The product does not need an account, remote scoring service, or database for its core job.
