Alphabetizer Privacy
How this app handles lists, files and downloads.

Lists and local files
Text you enter and local files you select are processed in your browser. The app does not upload those lists for sorting, send them to another app or create a cloud copy. Your original list, options, results and up to six recent replacement Undo snapshots remain available while the page is open. Alphabetizer does not automatically save this work.
Closing, reloading or leaving the page can lose the session. Clear removes the current input/result; a memory-only Undo snapshot can temporarily restore a valid recent input while the tab is open. Browser navigation restoration is not a promised save feature. Download anything you need to keep.
Appearance preference
Your System, Light or Dark choice may be remembered on this device. It contains no list or file contents. Clearing site data resets the preference.
Clipboard and downloads
Copy writes the current sorted list to your device clipboard after you choose it. Your operating system and other software handle clipboard contents under their own rules. If automatic clipboard access fails, the app offers selected text for normal manual copying.
TXT downloads contain the sorted list. Markdown and JSON reports contain the sorted list, rules, counts and public versions. JSON also includes each record's original index. Reports do not include a separate original-list section, a source filename or Undo snapshots. JSON’s original indices make the original record order recoverable. All formats can reveal every item you entered. Files stay under your control; sharing them yourself may disclose their content. There is no automatic email or cloud-sharing feature.

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send. For a bug report, use a small deidentified example rather than a confidential list.
