How to Create a New Document

Create an editable Document, add only the structure you need, and save it in Workspace.

5 minute readLast reviewed August 2026

Quick answer

Open Start, choose New document, enter a title, add the content, and choose Save.

Create the Document

  1. Open Start.
  2. Choose New document.
  3. Enter a title that will be easy to find later.
  4. Write or paste the first content.
  5. Choose Save.

Add structure when it helps

Start with a Paragraph for simple work. Add Headings, Bullets, Numbers, Checklists, Quotes, Code, or Dividers when they make the Document easier to read or use.

Add a Project only when it belongs

A Document can remain unassigned. Add it to a Project when it is part of a larger body of work.

Check that it saved

Review the status near the Document title. Workspace shows whether the work is saved, has unsaved changes, or could not be saved.

Keep a local copy when needed

Use Download document for one Document, then choose Markdown, Plain Text, or JSON. Use Back up Workspace data when you need a backup of the supported work stored in this browser.
