Add a block

  1. Open a Document.
  2. Switch to Editing when needed.
  3. Choose Add block.
  4. Select the block type.
  5. Enter or revise the content.
  6. Choose Save.

Available block types

Paragraph

Regular text.

Heading

A title for a section.

Bullets or Numbers

Items with or without a required order.

Checklist

Items that need a completion state.

Quote

Quoted material.

Code

Technical content that benefits from fixed-width formatting.

Divider

A simple break between substantial sections.

Use blocks for meaning

  • Use Headings to make long Documents easier to scan.
  • Use Bullets for equal items and Numbers when order matters.
  • Use Checklists only when completion state is useful.
  • Use Quotes for quoted material, not ordinary emphasis.
  • Use Dividers sparingly.

Use the editing toolbar

The toolbar keeps Add block, Undo, Redo, and More available while you edit. It is hidden in Reading mode and print output.

If Add block does not open

  • Confirm the Document is in Editing mode.
  • Confirm you opened an editable Document rather than a preserved original.
  • Close any open sheet or menu and try again.
  • Save important changes before refreshing the page.
