How to Edit a Document

Open a saved Document, make changes, and confirm the new version is saved.

Quick answer

Open Documents, select the Document, switch to Editing when needed, make the changes, and choose Save.

Open the Document

  1. Open Documents.
  2. Use Search or the available filters when needed.
  3. Select the Document.
  4. Choose Editing in the bottom dock if the Document opens in Reading mode.

Edit the title or content

  • Select the title field to rename the Document.
  • Edit text in an existing block.
  • Choose Add block for a new section or structure.
  • Use More for additional Document actions.

Use Undo and Redo

The editing toolbar keeps Add block, Undo, Redo, and More available while you work. Undo and Redo apply to recent changes in the current editing session.

Save and review

  1. Choose Save.
  2. Confirm the status changes to saved.
  3. Switch to Reading mode when you want to review without editing controls.
  4. Choose Download document, then select Markdown, Plain Text, or JSON.

Edit a copy of a preserved item

Responses and other preserved records are not edited like normal Documents. Choose Make copy, then edit the new Document and keep the original for reference.
