About Webcam Test

Webcam Test is a focused Mycelgrid device-check app for one question: can this browser open the camera you intend to use and show a usable live stream?

Why the app stays narrow

The test prioritizes direct camera truth: explicit permission, a live preview, camera selection, current resolution, frame-rate observations, mirror control, and clean shutdown. It avoids a synthetic camera-quality score because lighting, browser processing, subject matter, and device firmware can distort that kind of verdict.

Browser-local camera handling

The app requests video without microphone audio. It does not record or upload camera video, and it stores no camera history or preference.
