MICROPHONE TEST / MANUAL
Microphone Test Manual
Microphone Test checks whether this browser can open a microphone, receive a live signal, and record a short local playback sample.
Start the microphone
Select Start microphone test. Your browser should request microphone permission. The app does not request access automatically when the page loads.
Speak and watch the signal
After access starts, speak normally. The input meter, dBFS readout, signal label, and waveform update from browser-delivered audio samples.
Select another input
If the browser exposes more than one audio input, use the Microphone selector. Switching devices requests a stream from the selected device and releases the previous microphone track.
Record a local sample
Select Record sample to record from the active microphone. Select the button again to stop, or let the app stop automatically at 10 seconds. The resulting sample remains in page memory and can be played through the browser audio control.
Clear playback
Clear sample removes the in-memory playback object and releases its temporary browser URL. It does not stop the live microphone.
Stop the microphone
Stop microphone stops the active MediaStream tracks, closes the audio analysis graph, stops any recording, and releases the device from this page.
Device details
Open Device details to see settings that the active browser track reports. Some browsers omit individual fields.
Common errors
Permission denied means the site is blocked from microphone access. No microphone means the browser cannot find an audio input. A device-busy or unreadable error can occur when hardware, operating-system settings, or another application prevents the stream from starting.
