About Microphone Test

Microphone Test is a browser-local Mycelgrid app for checking whether a microphone can deliver audio to the current page and for hearing a short local playback sample.

Design principles

The app keeps permission explicit, exposes the selected device, shows transparent signal measurements, and avoids opaque microphone-quality scores.

Measurement boundary

The browser can expose a live digital stream and some track settings. It cannot turn arbitrary consumer hardware into a calibrated sound-level meter or laboratory microphone analyzer.
