About Fraction Calculator

Fraction Calculator is published by Mycelgrid LLC as a free browser-based arithmetic tool for fractions, mixed numbers, and ordinary finite decimals.

Exact rational calculations

The calculation engine parses the entered values as whole-number numerators and denominators and performs arithmetic using BigInt rational values. Fractions are normalized by greatest common divisor, denominators are kept positive, and zero is handled explicitly. Approximate decimals and percentages are derived only after the exact answer is established.

Browser-local processing

Inputs, current results, steps, and exports are generated inside the active browser page. No account, database, remote math API, cloud history, or automatic saving of calculation work is required. Leaving or reloading the page can discard work.

Numeric bounds and approximation

Each entered number is limited to 30 numeric digits, 12 fractional decimal places, and absolute magnitude at most 1,000,000,000,000. Output fractions can contain larger exact integers. Terminating decimal displays within 12 places are exact; other decimals and percentages are marked approximate.

Scope and limitations

This app handles numerical fraction arithmetic and one-value simplification/conversion. It does not solve symbolic equations, evaluate nested expressions, perform partial fraction decomposition, or infer repeating decimals from finite input. Browser printing and saving to PDF depend on your device's print dialog.

Privacy, data and limits

Fraction Calculator processes fraction, mixed-number, and finite-decimal inputs with current exact rational results only in this browser page. It does not upload calculation work, maintain an app-owned history, account, cloud copy, or recovery service. Reloading or leaving this page can discard unsaved work.

Arithmetic uses reduced BigInt fractions. Decimal and percent displays can be rounded and are marked approximate when necessary. Inputs are limited to 30 numeric digits, 12 fractional decimal places, and a maximum absolute magnitude of one trillion. This app does not parse arbitrary algebra, infer repeating decimals, or perform symbolic partial fraction decomposition.
