Paint Calculator is published by Mycelgrid LLC as a browser-based paint quantity and coverage planner.

Calculation scope

The app estimates paint quantity for interior room walls, individual walls, ceilings, exterior walls, or a known paintable area. It accounts for measured openings where supported, coats, editable coverage, an explicit extra/touch-up allowance, and user-selected container size.

Technical basis

The calculator uses the international foot and exact conversions of 1 ft = 0.3048 m, 1 ft2 = 0.09290304 m2, and 1 US gallon = 3.785411784 L. It retains full finite precision internally and separates exact paint need from purchase rounding.

Browser-local processing

Measurements and results stay in the current browser page for the session. Calculator operation does not require an account, database, remote calculation service, or user-work storage.

Estimate boundaries

Results are estimates. Paint formulation, surface type and condition, texture, porosity, application method, color change, and job technique can affect real coverage. Product instructions and the paint label control. This app does not calculate contractor labor or project pricing and does not select paint products, colors, sheen, primer, stain, or floor coatings.

Privacy, data and limits

Paint Calculator processes project measurements, openings, coats, coverage, extra allowance, container size, and calculated results only in this browser page. It does not upload calculator work, maintain an app-owned project history, account, cloud copy, or recovery service. Copy, CSV, and print actions occur only when you choose them.

Results are paint-quantity planning estimates based on the values and assumptions you enter. Actual coverage can vary with the paint product, surface texture and porosity, repairs, color change, application method, and project conditions.
