Where Does Mycelgrid Workspace Store My Work?

Understand browser storage, backups, and the difference between backing up everything and downloading one item.

6 minute readLast reviewed August 2026

Quick answer

Workspace stores supported work in this browser. This tool does not upload that work for processing. Browser data can be cleared, so back up important work regularly.

What browser storage means

Your saved Documents, Responses, Checkpoints, and Projects stay in the browser profile where you created or imported them. Another browser, device, or profile will not automatically have the same data.

When browser data can be lost

  • You clear site data or browser storage.
  • You reset or remove the browser profile.
  • The device is lost, damaged, or replaced.
  • A private browsing session ends.
  • A browser or device problem removes local data.

Back up Workspace data

Use Back up Workspace data to save a local backup of the supported work stored in Workspace.

This backs up your Workspace data. It does not download the Workspace app or its code.

Create a backup before clearing browser data, changing devices, or making a large set of changes. Review the downloaded file before relying on it as your only copy.

Choose the download that matches your need

Back up Workspace data

Use this for the supported Documents, Responses, Checkpoints, and Projects stored in this browser.

Download project

Use this when you only need one Project and its supported related work.

Download document

Use this when you only need one Document as a local file.

Download a Checkpoint package

Use Chat Backup Checkpoint when you need the saved conversation package it creates.

Restore carefully

Use the matching restore or import action for the file you saved. Review the result before deleting the original file or clearing browser data.
