Chat Checkpoint Quick Start

The shortest reliable workflow is: open the ChatGPT conversation, start Capture, let verification finish, review the numbered Responses, then download the package that matches what you want to do next.

Before you start

Open the conversation you want to preserve on chatgpt.com and open Chat Checkpoint. The extension must be connected to a supported ChatGPT conversation page before Capture can start.

Quick start

Start Capture and keep the conversation available while Chat Checkpoint traverses the page.

Wait through the verification stage. Verification checks for Responses that loaded late; it is not a second capture you need to trigger.

Review the numbered assistant Responses after the capture result appears.

Choose a download: Responses ZIP for selected assistant Responses, Checkpoint ZIP for a preserved selected set, Continue ZIP for a Checkpoint plus continuation prompt, or Complete ZIP for the broadest local package.

Keep the downloaded file somewhere you control.

What success means

A complete result means the current verification process confirmed the capture under its implemented checks. It does not mean perfect capture can be guaranteed under every browser, page-loading, or future ChatGPT condition. If completeness is not confirmed, the extension can surface the captured work as Review Needed instead of silently presenting it as complete.
