Long and Interrupted Chat Checkpoint Captures
Long captures can pause while ChatGPT loads older content, and the current extension includes retained/resumable capture behavior. Treat progress and verification as evidence, not as a promise of speed or recovery from every failure mode.
A pause is not automatically a failure
The current runtime evidence includes a pronounced pause while ChatGPT appeared to load older conversation content; capture later advanced. Host-page loading and virtualization can therefore create visible waiting periods.
Resumable progress
The current implementation exposes resume availability and retained captured work during reconnecting states. User-reported runtime testing also observed a capture continuing from retained progress after leaving and returning to the same conversation. This supports describing resumable capture progress, not guaranteed recovery from every browser, device, storage, or page failure.
Partial work can still be preserved
When a capture cannot finish but partial download is available, the extension can provide an incomplete-capture JSON. Keep that file if the captured material matters, then troubleshoot the environment separately rather than discarding evidence by default.
Support boundary
Failures, repeated stalls, connection problems, missing page content, and environment-specific recovery belong in Support documentation. Normal Guides should explain the expected workflow and the existence of recovery behavior without turning every use page into a troubleshooting manual.
