Frequently asked questions

What is an AI response saver?

An AI response saver turns one useful answer from an AI conversation into a portable file you control, such as Markdown, text, JSON, DOCX, or a PDF saved through your browser.

Does this tool save an entire conversation?

No. Response Saver is designed to preserve one selected response at a time. A complete conversation or project checkpoint is a different type of artifact.

Is the response uploaded to Mycelgrid?

This version processes the pasted response directly in your browser. It does not upload the entered response to Mycelgrid for processing.

What is the difference between Markdown and plain text?

Markdown preserves lightweight syntax such as headings, lists, emphasis, and code blocks. The text download is a plain .txt file; any Markdown characters already present in the prepared response remain literal text.

Which file formats can I save?

This candidate can save Markdown, text, JSON, and DOCX files locally. PDF uses your browser print dialog so you can choose Save as PDF when that option is supported.

Can the tool remove greetings or introductory language?

The current cleanup options can remove an initial Assistant or ChatGPT label and normalize some copied-list formatting. Review the prepared result before downloading.

Does Response Saver change the meaning of the response?

It is designed to preserve the response while applying only the options you select. Review the prepared result before sharing or relying on it.

Can I use the saved file in another AI conversation?

Yes. You can copy the text or upload the saved file where supported. Review the file first and include only the context needed for the next task.

Is an account required?

No account is required to prepare, copy, or download a response with this version of the tool.

Method and limitations

Processing
The response is read and formatted locally in the browser.
Optional cleanup
The current cleanup options remove an initial Assistant or ChatGPT label and normalize selected copied-list patterns outside fenced code blocks.
Properties
When selected, the tool adds local note properties for title, date, record type, source, and tags. Existing leading YAML frontmatter is retained instead of being replaced.
Markdown output
The Markdown download preserves the prepared response and lightweight syntax such as headings, lists, emphasis, and code blocks. Optional note properties are included when selected.
Plain-text output
The .txt download provides the title and prepared response without added note properties. Existing Markdown characters in the response remain literal text rather than being converted to rich formatting.
JSON output
The JSON download stores a structured local record with tool/version metadata, title, tags, selected cleanup options, the prepared body, and the generated Markdown/text representations.
DOCX output
The Word document is generated locally as a minimal Open XML .docx package containing the title, saved date, and prepared response. Markdown characters remain literal text in this candidate.
PDF output
The PDF action uses the browser print dialog. Choose Save as PDF when your browser or operating system provides that destination. No PDF is uploaded or generated by a remote service.
Storage
The tool does not automatically save the response. The result remains in the current page until you copy, download, clear, or leave.
Review boundary
The tool does not verify whether the original response is accurate, complete, safe to share, or appropriate for a later decision.
Local-use boundary
This version does not upload the entered response to Mycelgrid for processing. Copy and download actions create local output under your control.
